Surgical teams with more experience working together associated with fewer patient complications It’s a no-cost innovation in the OR to improve patient outcomes - why not make it happen? Thanks Betty Zhou for chatting about it for @uoftmedicine https://t.co/xEWCNISM4p

Robots will surpass good human surgeons within a few years and the best human surgeons within ~5 years. @Neuralink had to use a robot for the brain-computer electrode insertion, as it was impossible for a human to achieve the required speed and precision.

A cautionary tale... Do. Better. Maintaining 1:1:1 through the first 4 hours is associated with improved early and later survival. AND, not surprisingly, early use of whole blood increases likelihood of achieving this TQIP recommended Best Practices for Massive Transfusion.

1:1:1 resuscitation reduces mortality from hemorrhage. In a multicenter trial, Dr. Van Gent and colleagues evaluated adherence to balanced resuscitation and how whole blood affected balanced ratio achievement. 🩸#AmerSurg25
