It’s been a sad week.We had to say goodbye to this gorgeous boy, Timmy.Out of the blue, he collapsed.The vet found a burst tumour in his spleen & an aggressive cancer called Hemangiosarcoma which had spread. At breakfast he was fine, by lunch we had put him to sleep. We’re 💔 🐾

It’s been 10yrs since I had breast cancer & a double mastectomy.Since then I’ve learnt to love my scars. But that has taken time. 2day on @BBCMorningLive I’m doing a piece about body acceptance after cancer treatment. I hope it gives inspiration to anyone on the cancer journey💛

Tonight feels like we’ve all come to the end of that book that was always on our bedside table. We all read the chapters, some were good, some sad, some full of drama, some surprising. We all loved that book and although we’re sad the book has ended, it was the end we hoped for.

I made it back to the UK yesterday.Day1 in my Heathrow quarantine hotel!Bit like posh prison!You have to wait your turn for 20 mins outdoor exercise, ran 10 laps round the car park! Can’t wait to escape in 10 days & go for a walk with my lovely mum who I haven’t seen for months.

I picked up our dog Timmy’s ashes today. How beautiful is this? His ashes came with a spekboom bush to plant as a memory. Spekboom is one of the best carbon sequestrators in the world. Timmy was a rescue who lived his best life to the end. What a beautiful way to remember him. 🐾

Such a gorgeous hike up Table Mountain this morning. I love these white flowers, they’re part of the fynbos habitat & called Everlastings. Known as ‘fields of Cape snow’ when they bloom in summer. They have dry, papery leaves(bracts) and erupt at this time of year. How Glorious?

How beautiful is a bluebell wood? A carpet of purple and a real sign of Spring. Did you know almost half the world’s bluebells are found in the UK? They can take years to recover from footfall damage so enjoy the purple spectacle from the path and take care not to trample.

I was so shocked when I heard about this. My mate @IoloWilliams2 is a fit, healthy man. I’m pleased to say I’ve spoken to him & he is remarkably jolly considering. Iolo you will be hugely missed by us all on @BBCSpringwatch next week. Rest up, get the nurses watching. Huge hug 🤗.
Unfortunately I can’t co-present @BBCSpringwatch this year. I had a stent inserted in April, which released a clot, that, this week, caused an embolysm! My demise has been greatly exaggerated; thanks to brilliant friends, wonderful family & the excellent @NHS. Go Megan & team SW!
