Great to see another Part III leave judgment reported. But should more weight have been given to the purpose of Part III - to remedy inadequate provision from overseas proceedings - in deciding whether to grant leave when no attempt made to obtain orders where divorce took place?
WXT v HMT (leave to claim financial relief following overseas divorce) [2024] EWFC 136 (B): Application by wife for leave to claim financial relief following Algerian divorce. Leave granted.

A few thoughts for the @fr_journal ahead of Standish judgment tomorrow. FWIW I think Moor J got it right at first instance and the CofA will double down on Hart, but I have a terrible record of guessing appeal outcomes…

How about this for speed. Divorce issued in December 2023. Defended in February 2024. Stay application and directions hearing in March 2024. Two day jurisdiction/forum trial in April 2024!
AN v NO [2024] EWFC 94 (09 May 2024): Jurisdiction dispute concerning divorce application of wife, who was born in Russia. Application dismissed, following finding that the wife was not domiciled in England and Wales at the time of the application.
