The Marlins were swept at home by the Rockies earlier this year and just swept the Yankees. I refuse to believe this team is real but it has been fun.

I would have liked them to sell a reliever or 2. Trying to make up 7 games with only 55 games remaining is a bold strategy but ultimately keeping Sandy and Cabrera to me is the biggest win of them all.
Marlins are holding everyone else. They are the hottest team in baseball and 7 games back of the Wild Card. They have decided to give it a go & see if they can stay in the race. Yankees in town this weekend and expectation is all 3 games will be close to, or sold out.

2026 World Series Champions: Miami Marlins. Peter Bendix has officially earned my trust.
Barring something unforeseen, the Marlins are expected to hold onto both Sandy Alcantara and Edward Cabrera, per source. Both are controllable for at least the next two years. There will be plenty of opportunities to trade them in the future, if they're so inclined.

This almost feels like every suitor for Sandy and Cabrera is finding other options. I wonder if Bendix is asking for an outrageous price which I’m very happy with him doing. Neither of them need to be traded right now.
The Arizona Dbacks are in talks with the Boston Red Sox about right-hander Merrill Kelly, sources tell me.

Is it just me or does this feel like one of the more stressful Marlins trade deadlines in a while? I don’t want Sandy or Cabrera to get traded but at the same time, I fully understand trading them if you get huge value for them. I hate this.

Today’s the 10 year anniversary of my dad passing away, which feels a little crazy typing out. Friday afternoon, I got to go place a Panthers championship sticker on his grave. He’s the reason I became a Panthers fan and I’m sure he would have loved these past 2 years
