It feels like I see someone asking “how do I let pull requests from forks access my GitHub Actions secrets?” every other day. It turns out that it's not too hard to have both security _and_ a great developer experience. https://t.co/3t1J3m2guf

I wrote a thing about T shaped people, and spider-shaped #devrel

I’ve found that most companies expect us to be spider-shaped. Slightly less wide than a lot of professions, and slightly deeper than most others

Fun fact: the reason that \ acts like a line continuation in Bash is not because Bash added special support for line continuations, but rather because the \ is literally escaping the following newline character

OKRs get flung about a lot in companies, but rarely are they explained as clearly as @mheap manages to in under 15 minutes. https://t.co/tAxbQ4kttP

The best managers don't look like they're doing much of anything because they've put in motion a system steers itself towards its desired outcomes without requiring their constant intervention. This is difficult to value in a context where individual performance must be measured.

I just heard Quiet Quitting referred to as “Acting Your Wage” and I can’t work out if I love it, or if I hate the implication that pay can compensate for feeling valued

It makes even more of a difference for OSS projects that I touch every couple of months If it was work related I’d do it day in, day out and never forget. Some of these projects get 1 release a year, and not having to rediscover the release process every time is priceless

The single biggest gift that past-me gave to current-me is that I can tag a release on GitHub, and no matter where the project is released to, it _just works_ It means people can use new functionality as soon as it's ready, rather than batching up and releasing monthly

;@nginx @OpenResty and @LuaLang helped @thekonginc to build the most adopted #opensource #apigateway. More details on it in the @subnetmarco blog post. but haters say it's “legacy” 🤷♂️
Kong's Gateway open source technology powers the world with over 10 trillion API requests/month, 1000+ plugins across 40,000+ organizations. Can't be more proud of the work we have done, faster and more adopted than any other GW in the world. Learn more at
