Can confirm. There are 2:4x marathon guys in my run club who regularly post 10:00-11:00/mi easy runs on Strava. Every run, fast or slow, contributes meaningfully to your fitness. Great training is learning how to balance the hard with the easy (and you want lots of easy).
@Bal_Butterfly @runliftrunlift I’ve found Jake at Ran 2 Japan interesting and Japanese running culture fascinating. He’s mentioned a few times how the top guys and gals will crush the speed workouts but they’ll 10+/mi on their easy runs. Crush the hard and make the easy super EZ. Advice to live by.
