Researchers at MIT have questioned whether SMART goals (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic, time-bound) actually work. They suggest we might get better outcomes if we make our goals FAST (frequently discussed, ambitious, specific and transparent) not SMART.

In March there was $41 million.....in July a promise to provide $450 million in tax cuts. Doesn't sound quite right....

In March (story excerpt below) Steeves projected a $41 million surplus for 2024-25 which he said made tax cuts impossible โ€” though he said that could change. The HST cut promised today would begin in 2025-26.
