The most aesthetically unique Indian movie I've seen in the last five years is a Wes Anderson-style Malayalam absurdist comedy set in a Tamil village. It's a travesty that FFI didn't send Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam (2023) for Oscars & Mammootty not getting a national award.
tamilnadu is sooo beautiful if you ignore the chennai metropolitan area. every district i travel, the frames are just wow. taking mostly the b-roads, away from all national highways. blessed land fr.

“Despite the conventional accusation that militaries invariably prepare to refight the last war, closer examination suggests they are prone more often to ignore history, or at best recall it carelessly, if not disingenuously.” -

Friendliness isn't always a sign of trustworthiness. Warmth is easy to fake. The foundations of trust are reliability and integrity. What counts isn't courtesy in the moment—it's keeping commitments over time. The best way to inspire confidence is to consistently walk our talk.

A very readable and rewarding book absent of unecessary legal jargon. The flaws of international law stems from the contradictory nature of liberalism (i.e., its inability to reconcile indiviudal liberty and social order). 1/5
