An anchor is a universal symbol of hope, strength, stability, permanence & belonging. Values which reflect the optimism associated with 1948 Windrush pioneers, their descendants & all migrant settlers. The world’s most famous anchor set in a memorial would be a fitting touchstone

This day 5 Aug 1936, German passenger cruiser ‘Monte Rosa’ arrived in the Thames & moored at Greenwich bringing about 500 tourists on the first of seven visits over two months. Just 10 yrs later, the vessel was refitted/renamed ‘Empire Windrush’ & the rest as they say is history

1.The local ‘MP Filter’ is an outdated Westminster gatekeeping practice preventing open access to @PHSOmbudsman ….And even the Prime Minister can’t intervene ! 🤷🏼♂️. 2.No National UK Museum has any appeal process whatsoever for permanent or temporarily restricted individuals ! 🤷🏼♂️.

People too often overlook the ‘anchor’ metaphor… it does of course have a massive presence in so many team sports. It’s a key role in holding things together, linking play & providing a reliable platform for group unity .⚓️.🏏⚽️⛹🏽🏉🏒🥍🏊🏼🚴🏻🏃🏾♀️

Very sad to see my local Rev Kev leaving… lovely chap and a kindly support to me over the past 14 years. His friendship beyond Church matters has been a great strength through some very challenging times. Godbless Fr 🙏🏽
How does any priest run two parishes for 14 years with a bike for the commute? ‘Rev Kev’ did it and grew the fine community in SE10. And gave a brilliant party too.
