It was an honor to join IATSE Local 600 and ICG Publicists at the 61st Annual ICG Publicist Awards as they presented the Television Showperson of the Year Award to the multitalented @SirPatStew. Very well deserved!

Thanks to the courage of these workers and others, we stand at the cusp of a new era in VFX. An era where every worker’s contribution and value are recognized, where they can win the same rights and protections their @IATSE co-workers already have.

In this country, when you work, you get paid. Anything less is theft.

Workers shouldn’t have to jeopardize their hard-earned retirement security in order to pay their bills. This safety net is something we can and should offer to support those who make the difficult choice to strike.

IATSE proudly stands behind Rep. Schiff's Empowering Striking Workers Act, advocating for future workers who may find themselves in the challenging position of going on strike. Workers exercising their rights in order to achieve a fair contract shouldn't be forced into debt. 1/2

Our presence and leadership within UNI Global Union must continue to serve as a beacon of hope and strength as we fight to ensure entertainment workers can have safe workplaces, are paid fairly, and are treated with dignity and respect, regardless of the country they call home.

Our largest employers are organized internationally, so we must organize internationally as well. Nothing happens in a vacuum and the standards of entertainment workers internationally directly impact the economics of our business right here at home.

Entertainment workers everywhere are sticking up for each other’s rights, that’s what our movement is all about. I congratulate these workers on taking this important step and using their collective voice. #VFXUnion
