My latest biggest hobby is ceramics. Here’s some experiments trying to develop a maker’s mark. Which one do you like best?

I don’t mean to be a tech curmudgeon but is anyone else a bit bored of the GPT hype train?

How do I know that all this chat about GPT isn’t just an AI creating Twitter accounts and hyping itself up?

I want to learn about event-driven architecture / #Kafka with a toy project. What are some good demo projects that I could build with an event-driven approach?

Accidentally over trimmed my beard over NYE. Not only did my fiancée do a double take but my iPhone stopped recognising my face. First lesson of 2023, never shave the beard

There’s lots of others that I don’t know how to ID yet. The world of fungi is so wild and under explored but I’m having fun learning. Which was your favourite?

Rosy bonnet (Mycena rosea) a toxic one. Might easily be mistaken for the even more purple edible called the Amethyst Deceiver which I’m still looking for.

Grey oyster mushroom. Super tasty edible and a relatively easy ID. Picked a few of these to make tacos.

Honey fungus (Armillaria mellea) a parasitic fungi. If this is growing on your tree, sadly it’s bad new for the tree. It is edible but can give some people a bad stomach.

Shaggy inkcap. A choice edible. Best picked when white. Need to be cooked quickly afterwards. After picking or as they get older they auto digest turning into a black gloopy mess. The black gloop can be used as ink, hence inkcap.

The clouded agaric (Clitocybe nebularis) edible but with a 1 in 5 chance it gives you a bad stomach. 🤷🏽♂️
