The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has said there were no cases of the virus in the UK. and currently the risk to the UK population is considered low. However, planning is under way to prepare for any cases that might occur.

Well this time its back, and the WHO is warning that the virus is spreading rapidly across the African continent and could spread over into other continents.

You may remember when there was an outbreak 2 years ago, with the WHO declaring a public health emergency in July 2022, and contact-tracing programmes and mass vaccination were deployed. The emergency status was lifted in May 2023 after about 90,000 infections.
