I'm making a conscious effort this year to wean myself off Twitter. You will still be able to find me in some other places. My website: https://t.co/M8TiQ7o5gW Bluesky: https://t.co/YaTyImsEm9 PhotoHound: https://t.co/gXylAnGtQg

(I only mention those because the jury's still out on whether I'll persevere with Meta's products!) My account will remain open, but I will not be checking DMs or replies frequently. For any enquiries, please send a message via my website, email, phone or carrier pigeon. ✌️

2025 has started with a bang as the #NorthernLights made an appearance here in Wales. Tonight I went for a little photo expedition taking in Dryslwyn Castle, the Tywi river and Paxton's Tower. #aurora #astrophotography #spacewx #thephotohour

As it's November 5th, here's a throwback to one of my best fireworks photos🎆 This is Kumano fireworks festival in Japan, photographed this summer aboard the Diamond Princess ship This is not AI or Photoshop - this is a single 5-second exposure during the crescendo of the show!

A photograph from the famous aurora display of October 10-11 2024. This is captured at Pentre Ifan, a neolithic burial chamber that is believed to have stood on this site for over 5,000 years. #northernlights #auroraborealis #thephotohour

My son observing #CometATLAS last night through his toy telescope here in west Wales. He's a lucky boy to see the northern lights AND a comet within a week of each other! #Comet #Astronomy #TsuchinshanATLAS #cometa #CometC2023A3 #Tsuchinshan #C2023A3 #FollowTheComet

The old church at Mwnt is one of my favourite places for night sky photography and when I saw that amazing northern lights forecast last week I knew I had to head to the Ceredigion coast to try to capture it. #northernlights #auroraborealis

Though I spent most of Thursday night in Ceredigion, I made a pit stop in Carmarthen, to see if the #northernlights were visible. It's a challenging photo due to light pollution and fog rolling in over the Tywi river, but on camera, a faint green #aurora was still visible.

A timelapse of @NASA's Advanced Composite Solar Sail System (#ACS3) travelling overhead tonight. It appears to be wobbling / tumbling through space, hence the light reflected back to us on earth comes and goes. #solarsail #space #astrophotography #astronomy #NASA #spacecraft

Therefore I may post intermittently for the benefit of those who still use this. However if you wish to reach me or expect a reply, Instagram and email are best for direct communication.

2. If I deactivate my account the name may be claimed by someone else. I don't wish for whatever goodwill I've hopefully built with my small audience to be hijacked.

The idea of boycotting Twitter/X is morally appealing but for the time being not workable for two reasons. 1. In my line of work, social media is a necessary evil and there is an expectation that you should be using all of the "top" platforms.

I'm not *that* active on this platform any more anyway, but the antics of its owner in recent weeks has absolutely disgusted me. Using his clout and influence to shape the narrative around news events is so blatant it would make even Rupert Murdoch blush.

Jubilant and emotional scenes in Carmarthen this morning as Llanarthne's own @AnnBremenda departs for Westminster as @Plaid_Cymru's newly-elected MP for Caerfyrddin.

Its not like they even made big money out of this. It sort of betrays the fact that grubby, low level ethical breaches has been completely normalised over years by this shitty government. They probably thought nothing of it. A bit of fun. A bit of pocket money.
A source in the gambling industry has told Sky's @JonCraig that they are expecting more names to be announced in relation to the alleged election date insider betting scandal. https://t.co/xe3etzhPTI 📺 Sky 501, Virgin 602, Freeview 233 and YouTube
