Good to hear our Covid Defense Kits for people w/cancer I sent out pre-hurricane are arriving safely. Sent out another batch today. The Kit includes a booklet, masks, air purifiers, & tests. I think people are also just happy to be treated with dignity in difficult times.

For those wondering, this is how I started the conversation on air cleaners for my son's school district. I went to speak to the school board. Funny that 3 years later we are still talking about the same things. #CleanIndoorAir

What does an extra ~2-2.5 eACH cost for a classroom? This year it was $30 for air filters and $3 in⚡️, for a whopping $1.43 per kid per year!!! Took 7 hours to do 23 rooms. This ain't rocket science. Not a paid endorsement, no connection to brand but 0/23 failures in 3 years🤷♀️

Also shout out to @joeyfox85 for a well written piece comparing ASHRAE 62.1 to 241. https://t.co/Aqg3e5ejlH

Here is how the new standard compares to the old indoor air quality stanard and guidance from other ogranizations?
Aaron Collins @masknerd explains why Rep. Beyer’s Airborne Act needs both ASHRAE 62.1 & 241. For airborne precaution, ventilation with outside air only isn't enough. Filtration via portable air cleaners doesn't require expensive infrastructure upgrades. 👉 https://t.co/R9OLUsnu2w

Excited to update everyone on OpenRespirator. First step was to build the tools to make a mask. We developed a tool set which allows prototyping in silicone and co-molded plastic for $30 with one time capital cost of $4K, and of course all open-source! https://t.co/yQNplTzl28

Today, I introduced the bipartisan Indoor Air Quality & Healthy Schools Act that would implement needed, science-based measures to protect the public from poor indoor air quality. Thankful to @RepBrianFitz for partnering in this effort. Read more below: https://t.co/GK5ou4ciiB

The fact I am on this plane is amazing given right now. Was great to pitch clean air to so many interested parties, the tide is turning on clean air. As always, my trusty V-Flex helps reduced my inhaled dose. 23 days of travel, 5 flights, countless trains and still a NOVID.

Thank you Violet for advocating for clean air. It's not always easy to stand up and speak out when so many others want to ignore a problem. @BenAffleck sometimes the smallest acts can lead to biggest changes, I hope you can support her efforts. https://t.co/x8MqnI3srN

A reminder that COVID-19 is bad for everyone, and glad to see better masks being used. @vismaleaseabike a reminder that my offer still stands, well can keep Jonas and @WoutvanAert from getting it. Heck I am already in Europe 😜! https://t.co/Sndq5rGYzW

Y'all masking? Day 13 of an international trip, 2 flights, 3 long train rides and I can't count how many subway/metro/tube rides. Here our simple rules. 1. Well fitting masks when indoors 2. Patio/Outdoor dining only(or takeaway) 3. Open window in hotel/apt. when there.

Another flight another V-Flex. 5 flights and 3 trains over the next weeks as we do a whirlwind visit of Europe, followed on by a week long work trip. Will jam out to @joost_kleinn Europapa for the full 7 hour flight in prep.

Bummer to not see @seppkuss race the tour, I hope you heal up. Repeat COVID infections are bad for everyone. Yearly reminder to @vismaleaseabike that the crew at @OpenAeros have the tools and knowledge to help stop illness(can't do much with the bikes 😂) https://t.co/7iHHQkK0CB

Spanish Vuelta champion Sepp Kuss has not sufficiently recovered from a COVID-19 infection and won’t take part in the Tour de France.

[8/9] I also have concern that based on the design, leaks that shoot air straight back might not be captured in the Gesundheit-II. Would be interesting to see that validated.

[7/9] I hope @Don_Milton and the crew at UMD can do some paired fit testing to these studies in the future. To help answer the question – “Does inward leakage fit testing translate to outward leakage?”

[6/9] 2. Surgical masks suck in every study, including this one. They don’t do much for inhalation or exhalation. We need to ditch them, and make better products. We have the tools and tech. The sacred medical mask needs to go away, it doesn’t work!

[5/9] 1. N95’s are better on average because of headband requirement, but just because it’s a N95 doesn’t magically make it fit. There is no requirements in the N95 standard that define fit. If they used a crappy cup N95 the story would be “even N95’s don’t work”.
