Everywhere Europeans landed on the African continent there were Native people; somehow the southern most tip was conveniently "uninhabited"? Its truly insulting that we still have to engage this stupid "braai fire urban legend" white people cooked up while have klippies & coke.

Sure, you’ll grieve parts of your previous ideas of yourself while grappling with your understanding of patriarchy. I think sometimes women want so badly to exist aa the antithesis of patriarchy and I don’t think the scales always balance that evenly.

Yeah I think people are digging too deeply into this. Gestures of care and acts of kindness are very normal human deeds. Men perform as well. Culturally, caring for others is positive but suddenly in romance is negative? Seems silly.
There’s a part where Megan says she wants to cook well to show her boyfriend’s family that she loves their son. And I suppose it’s a sweet enough concept but it just made me sad. I’m not sure why.

@__Shezi Remember ladies, feminism is about choice. She’s an educated, successful artist. She can also cook for her boyfriend and his family to show her love. We contain multitudes.

@__Shezi I think we’ve stepped too far into the feminism bag and maybe need to go outside and touch grass? A black southern woman showing love through food is what we are questioning here? The plot has been lost!

@mmodiba10 These churches are dynasties of the family of the founding father and they want us to believe that they are about salvation.
