@EthTaipei was excellent. I learned a lot and got to meet some really interesting people. Thank you for inviting us to speak about the risks of blind signing and to sing "I want it that way".

What I'm saying is we should strive to be friendlier and supportive to those who are building on top of Ethereum, even if those solutions have centralized flavour in them. Today this is not the case.

I'm not saying that we shouldn't keep thinking, experimenting, and building pure decentralized things. Quite the opposite, I believe those are the north stars that we should keep moving towards and I admire the people who are working on that front.

My personal goal is to progress decentralization and privacy as much as we could, but what this means to me is to maximize [IMPACT] rather than [FORM]. The more people adopt and move away from traditional model, the better.

I've argued in my public talks that Telegram achieved more in privacy than Signal, even though as a nerd I know Signal is technically better, but the adoption of Telegram made it a threat to governments, and Signal is simply no match.

If you build something with some centralized component, you get mocked, publicly shamed, not recognized, etc -- I sense the focus was not to win and make things more useful, but just to pursue something that is beautiful technically and dream that it will be usable one day.

I love Ethereum and all of its cypherpunk nature and goals, I believe in progressing in privacy. However, I have concluded from my personal experience that this belief in decentralization developed a certain kind of toxicity, pushing people away.

Dismissing projects outright without understanding the reasoning behind their design choices only stifles progress.

There are a lot of nuance in development, and sometimes a hybrid approach is a practical step toward broader adoption, better user experience, or even long-term decentralization.

I'm writing this in hoping for a more inclusive ecosystem where folks don’t just start attacking the moment they see something being built with some centralized components.
