Easter treat, 1995 la Rioja Alta Gran Riserva 904 , still going strong, lovely stuff and great memories of Spain and 00’s dining in London where it was seemingly ubiquitous and £40 a bottle on most lists!

In a happy coincidence my favourite restaurant Pisenze, sells my new favourite wine! We thought the storm would put paid to time in the lake but when you’re used to cold Bridlington 27 c cloudy Garda is still very nice!

Dinner at Osteria Da Mari, in an old palazzo lakeside in manerba del garda. Superbly turned out local classics and a star worthy, global wine list though I always try to stay local!

Superb baby burgundy from ‘down the road’ like a good minor village wine or great bourgogne but 10e!!
