Dear
@delta
. I fly you so often you’re like my home in the sky. But can you please make closed captions available for your in-flight live television? Deaf and hard of hearing flyers deserve access too. Thank you. ✈️✈️✈️✈️
Sad to see that my preferred airline,
@Delta
flight 1998 has provisions for various languages and audio description for in-flight entertainment but no closed captions for deaf and hard of hearing flyers.

Well,
@PeteButtigieg
, you're the first candidate for President that I've ever seen sign. Bravo! And
@pleasantandy
I like the name sign (and the story behind it) that you've given him. 🙌🏻
Even when she was down she danced and showed the world that she refused to let cancer beat her. Now Rhoda is with Mary in heaven. RIP Valerie Harper. You were the epitome of strength and humor. 😢🤟🏻
Richard Belzer was one of the most kindest and welcoming actors when I guested on two episodes of Law and Order: SVU. His passing is truly a loss for Hollywood and I will miss him dearly. RIP Richard Belzer.
Please RT. The benefits of Special Olympics, which I have seen first hand as volunteer are IMMEASURABLE. DeVos proposal to cut their funding will adversely affect thousands with developmental disabilities. Don't let this happen! I support
@SpecialOlympics
To ALL networks: next time at
#SuperBowl
when the signer like
@chrisunkim
is performing
#NationalAnthem
& America the Beautiful they should be on the broadcast the WHOLE time, not a few seconds. SHOW the beauty of ASL either in a bubble, split screen or next to singer It’s time!
Congratulations to first time Deaf actor Keivonn Montreal Woodard for being the youngest Emmy nominee as Guest Actor for
@TheLastofUsHBO
. As the youngest Best Actress winner myself for an Oscar, my hands are waving in the air for you!
You may not know who Nanette Fabray was but she was one of the earliest proponents of sign language on TV. She advocated for the deaf and hard of hearing because she lived with being deaf. RIP Nanette Fabray, Stage And TV Comic Actress. She was was 97. …
So sad to read of the passing of Verne Troyer. A lovely smile with a caring and big heart, he helped raise money on behalf of
@starkeycares
for free hearing aids for deaf and hard of hearing people. RIP
She was complex, energetic, animated and hilarious. And she was my friend. Sending my condolences to her family. RIP Kirstie Alley. PS She would’ve agreed with me in saying
#fuckcancer
I am absolutely SHOCKED at
@CBS
for introducing the Deaf performers at today’s pregame
#SuperBowl
and then not showing even one second (or more) of their performance… as has been tradition for the last 30 years. WHY!?
Happy Birthday to Henry Winkler who has been like a second father to me all these years! He truly is the NICEST person in Hollywood. Now go out and get his book, "Being Henry: The Fonz...and Beyond"!! 🤟🏽🎂🤟🏽🎂🤟🏽🎂🤟🏽
On
@delta
2620. Thank you for closed captioned inflight entertainment (for movies). Perhaps in the future develop a video for deaf/HOH travelers how to access closed captions? Also looking forward to your LIVE TV and ALL series being captioned (they aren’t yet). Happy New Year.
I’m so sad to read the news of Leslie Jordan’s passing. He was such a pleasure to work with on my first TV series, Reasonable Doubts. He was at the top of his game and had so much to look forward to. He exuded JOY and LAUGHTER. RIP dear Leslie

Mark Medoff, the brilliant mind behind the Tony Award winning play, “Children Of A Lesser God,” has passed at 79. He insisted and fought the studio that the role be played by a deaf actor; I would not be here as an Oscar winner if it weren’t for him. RIP Dear Mark.
This is Part 2 of my challenge with accessibility while traveling Deaf on
@Delta
(and many other airlines) where captioning is limited or non-existent. We need to change the

I’m sad to say that I never had a chance to work with Matthew Perry but I admired his incredible talent. And my family loved him in Friends and was hit particularly hard by his untimely passing. RIP dear Matthew.
Juliana, the super nice

told me she was inspired to learn sign from

I always loved this picture because it was my way of emulating the great Penny Marshall. I’m sad to read she has passed. Director, producer and actress who had the humor, wit and fortitude to stand equally with the boys in Hollywood. Goodbye Penny, we will miss you. RIP
I got chills watching this. Thank you, Governor
@JanetMillsforME
for your powerful acknolwedgement of the American Sign Language Interpreter. And thank you
@CNN
for showing the interpreter the whole time.

My goodness,
@Walmart

Sad to read of the passing of Louise Fletcher. Brilliant actress & Academy Award winner, I remember her as the daughter of Deaf parents (CODA) who was the FIRST to sign her acceptance speech at the Oscars. And she was so lovely as my mother on “Picket Fences.” RIP dear Louise.
YAYAYAYAY!! "The Silent Child" produced by

just won an Oscar. Sign Language at the

Thank you for posting a clip with captions so millions of Deaf and Hard of Hearing can participate. So many are not. So, thank you again.
Remarkable. Fearless. Assured and laser focused in her interviews, she broke through every barrier, paving the way for every woman journalist who followed. What an honor it was to be interviewed by her on

India is a treasure trove of diversity... let’s cherish her... appreciate her and vow to work towards a better and brighter future for India.

We are in the White House Screening Room. Meanwhile, we were blown away when

told us that they loved

Judith Heumann was a fearless champion for the rights of people with disabilities in our nation and around the world and millions of people who have faced barriers owe her a debt of gratitude. I will always remember her as my hero and my friend. RIP Judy Heumann 🤟🏻

Seems the "R word" is back in the news. Two years ago when it was alleged that our President referred to me this way, I posted this. It's also why I produced the special

to show America that Deaf people deserve respect and equality; that we each have a story to tell.

Happy Birthday to my Kevin. So happy you were born! So lucky to have you in my life. So blessed you are the father of our children. I love you so much and look forward to celebrating many, many more birthdays with you. 🤟🏻🎂💜

the power of your performance was brought even higher with your inclusion of sign language. Thank you for highlighting the beauty of our language. You ROCK!
