Been a while since I've been on an airplane, but this @Press__Conf trip makes me nostalgic for when I flew to conferences 1-2x a month pre-pandemic. I enjoyed that life (though it wore me out), but I'm content with the life I have now (though it also wears me out 😅) #pressconf.

Just booked my tickets, flight, and lodging for @Press__Conf! My first solo trip since the kiddo and my first #WordPress event since @WordCampMpls this summer. Really looking forward to seeing all the folks in the community without the baggage of, you know, the "community.".

The saddest thing for me is that I was so excited to design a custom baby #wapuu onesie for my new little one, but as things unfolded, I became pretty sure I never wanted to design another wapuu again.

Tbh, at this point I'm kind of glad I'm going on maternity leave in one week (or less). I'll miss my job and stuff, but I won't miss, well, *gestures at all of this*.

Privileged that my largest frustration right now is how I've spent more time on this site in the last 24hrs than I have in several months. I stopped because it made me feel worse about the world, & this is no different. To my friends & community here: hugs and support ❤️.

For those of you heading to #wcus, have a lovely time and I will miss you all. I'll be there in spirit, but I'm also glad I chose to stay home this year and take care of myself in this new phase. Perhaps I'll bring a new tiny WordPresser to the next one in 2025 👶💻.

The next time I am able to go, whenever that is, I'm sure myself, WordPress, and the world at large might be very different, and that's ok. Me 10 years ago wouldn't recognize me now, but I bet she'd think everything I've accomplished was cool and be proud she set me up for it.

Feeling a mixed bag of emotions turning down attending/presenting at @WordCampUS this year due to late pregnancy. On one hand, I'm joyful about the changes coming soon to my life & promise of the future, on the other I wish I'd been able to do it "one last time" as the "old" me.
