New Heroes portrait of @Google's @JeffDean for the @theNAEng & @theNASEM. Spending time with Jeff is a reminder that kindness and brilliance can live side by side. He is one of the great architects of the modern internet, the co-creator of MapReduce and Bigtable, and the driving

C purists claiming C++ is a regression often resort to creative(often petty) ways to bash the lang. They're missing the point; C++'s evolution brought essential abstractions while preserving C's power. Dismissing decades of thoughtful lang. design isn't the flex they think it is.

I love maps! Not just cloth maps, but any map from a great CRPG. They look amazing framed and hanging on the wall. Every time I pass by, I stop and remember all the wild places I've visited in my RPG adventures. But have you ever wondered about the history of maps in fiction and

If you are still using vim, and think neovim is not a big deal, you are wrong, just like I have been. It is a huge leap forward. Can't recommend it enough.

I just wrote a blog post about how the modern AVX instruction vpternlogd shares a similar design with a 1985 Amiga blitter chip. Even Amiga programmers will be interested in a simple method to finally get that damn "minterm" value! https://t.co/313jFFVIaC #avx #amiga #demoscene

Well done brothers Serbians. Respect for the best national basketball team, who was robbed of its chance to fight for the first place.

Excited to share bug detection tool we've been working on w/ @maelver: https://t.co/X7mNy3ACrl It samples unmodified prod binaries with ~1% overhead, can be turned off completely. Detects data races, use-after-return, uninits. Can do more e.g. UAF/OOB in syscalls. Cool tech ...
