Looks like Mike Lawler (R) is considering a run for New York governor in 2026. If Gov. Kathy Hochul (D) runs for reelection, Republicans have a real shot at taking Albany. Hochul won by just 7 points in 2022 and her approval rating has tanked—20 points underwater per Siena poll.
