Blocking is essential to me to reduce the content I see from extremists, bigots, racists, Nazis, scammers, etc. and to prevent them from interacting with me. Hexagon crypto profiles, promoted tweets, and most blue ticks get blocked - most of my time here is spent blocking!

Johnny Mercer is right, we don't want Parliament to become like the Inbetweeners. Can you imagine if the government was made up of unlikeable, incompetent, idiot boys with problematic attitudes towards women who all went to school together?

I somehow missed this news back in Feb - I still have the big-box CD original, but to have it on Steam available to a wider audience, fully patched and updated, is epic. Like WipeOut 2097, the music here (from @WarpRecords) introduced me to a wealth of great musicians!
The future is greedy Hardwar is now on Steam! - https://t.co/KAZ0GFGxfi Trade, destroy, upgrade Your ship is your haven, your weapon, build it how you wish Still DRM-Free Still running on modern systems Still packed with FMV magic

Companies House is a giant fraud robot. It does whatever you ask, and doesn't notice or care if you're a bona fide business or a fraudster. Will the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Bill improve things? A thread. https://t.co/bYiknacHIA

Companies House’s rules were created in an era of trust, where incorporating a company took time and expertise. Automation made incorporating a company much faster and easier – but the rules didn’t…

Cory Doctorow compares Twitter exodus to the village of Anatevka in Fiddler On The Roof. Just read the first page of this. I love an unexpected & mind-sparking analogy. And follow @doctorow while you still can. 😬

Social media apps as Lord of the Rings characters, a thread: Twitter: Twitter is Gollum. Began as a normal halfling. Overexposure to evil left it thin and stretched and bitter.

Any retro gamers out there who haven't already seen this Kickstarter, you only have 3 days left to back it. It's a hefty wodge even at the best of times, but they look very decent and the maker has a good track record from previously making them by hand

Do you think it’s time for us to speak up en masse about the fact that we *do not* want any MPs to have any links to private healthcare? No donations, no earnings, no accepting expensive hospitality? There’s a strength of feeling here which even I hadn’t anticipated.

It's always disturbing when you discover the truth about one of your colleagues... but this way must be one of the worst ways to do so, as now I know that there is a monster out there, but don't know who it is! Cold chocolate is good, but a chilled Double Decker?? Yikes 😬

The new style of news-as-poetry is good! This one, "Vehicle ends up on its roof on Sloc", is very catchy: "A car ended up on its roof on the Sloc this afternoon. (A car ended up on its roof on the Sloc this afternoon.) A car ended up on its roof on the Sloc this afternoon."
