Wonderful conversations around our Learning Profile attribute data today. The students were excited to see how we could represent who we are in this way. I was so happy when they thought about how this data might connect to our class values. #yislearning

Today, students reflected on their strengths & challenges using the Learner Profile attributes. Tomorrow, we will look at we can learn from looking at the data with the some guiding questions. I’m curious to find out their thoughts and wonderings. #yislearning #pyp

Students exploring what our school mission means to them. For one student, living means to ‘find the fire in your bones’. Another student, used to think the mission could only happen at school, and now thinks it can happen anywhere. Happy teacher! #yislearning #LiveLearnLead

We often reveal our values through the qualities we admire in others. Celebrating generosity, curiosity, and integrity shows depth of character. Being more impressed by fame and fortune or status and appearance might be a sign of shallowness. #SundayThoughts

Leading difficult conversations with emotional intelligence is paramount to the healthy culture of a school community. This echos what I have been thinking about in the last couple of weeks. Thanks you @rulerapproach & @YaleEmotion ! https://t.co/4lKNVyWzPu
In an effort to respond to the dynamic needs and emotions of our school communities, we’ve updated our website with new resources and articles, including a resource focused on leading difficult conversations with emotional intelligence. @marcbrackett

This is such a wonderful episode! Thank you so much @BreneBrown and @marcbrackett! #SEL is my favourite part of the day, and even more important as we navigate #distancelearning. It’s so important to keep this at the forefront with both our students & our teams.
Two emotions researchers. One podcast. A total feelings frenzy of the best kind! @marcbrackett is such a great teacher. I think y'all will love this conversation. Listen to the full episode at https://t.co/Vo0DE6f6eT

This is a wonderful and thoughtful read. It captures and synthesises so many thoughts that have been bubbling in my mind over the past few weeks.
This is the piece I’ve been waiting for, from the writer I’ve been waiting to read. As pitch perfect as one would expect from Solnit on this moment. https://t.co/NmxAWITY45

This is an amazing thread. We can, and should, come out of this tragedy with a clearer sense of how backwards our priorities have been. Disasters allow us to question what we’ve become used to. A better world is possible.
The observations in the tweet below suggest another question: Why would the sacrifices necessary to make progress against both future pandemics and the climate crisis be much less painful than many believe? 1/

Finishing week 3 of #distancelearning thinking about how the best way to serve our students lies in how well we serve each other. It reminds me of this Maōri proverb.
