2022 resolution: End the saying "TRACK!" Lanes 1-2 are for distance runners 3-5 sprints 6-7 hurdles and most importantly, joggers run in lane 8, ideally running around the track in the opposite direction.

@marcusdickson94 This is the secret. We’re told caring more makes us better. But for most, being about to let go a touch does the trick. The best shape of my life was when I was coaching, paces lots of athletes, and never raced.

I’m 30, train way less than I used to, eat desserts often, sleep way worse and I run about 4:10 in the mile (9 seconds off PR). I’ve thought a lot about this. My conclusion? I don’t care. 0 percent of my identity is tied to running fast which makes me run really fast

Not sure what’s worse going to a long run at 30 as a BYU alumni: 1. Knowing imma have to run sub 6 to socialize and get teased by pro teammates for wearing super shoes OR 2. Having to watch 90+ minutes of content to catch up on all their YouTube channels

Utah Distance running: 1. Men and women Juco national champions (SLCC) 2. Men and women NCAA Champs (BYU) 3. Top ranked HS teams in the country 4. Five Olympians and a handful of pro runners. AND a whole bunch of more talent on other schools in Utah. What is going on?

Why isn’t this a more discussed question: “What does Ed Eyestone do to have this much success for his collegiate AND pro athletes?” Rooks, Corrigan, Linkletter, Mantz, and Young JUST this year are going to the Olympics. For $100,000 a year, I can tell you what I know 😆

Big shout out to @The_Michalski for pacing James Corrigan. I don’t think he really knew James before the race but he was willing to help someone chase their dream. His emotion was raw cheering him on too That is something only our sport can do to bring people together like that

Day before the window closes, after running rounds at NCAA, after rounds at the trials, 9th at NCAAs while PRing?? What he do? Runs a massive PR, with plenty of doubters, James too Clutch Corrigan. One of the best track and field stories of the year!!

LOOK AT JAMES!
https://t.co/cVA4Ljba85 Shout out the powers that made this possible, someone put up prize money to make this event a high enough label on world athletics calendar for substantial points. Now, James Corrigan just needs to run 8:20 to accrue enough points to go to Paris.

I will go crazy if Evan makes the team! But we should all “LOOK AT JAMES” and see if some runner who PR’d to get 9th at NCAAs a week ago, can call his shot, get the Olympic standard, and actually have THAT race that we all have dreamt of having on our weekend long run.
UPDATE: The men's steeplechase has been added to the @pennrelays Summer Showcase Series at Franklin Field on Saturday and @BYUTFXC's James Corrigan (third place in last night's U.S. Olympic Trials 3000m steeplechase final) will chase the 8:15.00 Olympic standard to secure his

I think we can all agree that having 17 HS national track meets on the same weekend isn’t the best planning

You know the feeling when it's your turn to lead a rep and your teammates are hitting pace exactly but you're exhausted and don't know if you can hit pace but you also have to make it look like you're chilling and you have a midterm in 75 minutes. I don't really miss that

People don't realize that every summer three things used to be certain: 1. Leo Manzo kicks from behind 2. Centrowitz wins the 15 3. Nick Symmonds making $$$ off ink on his biceps.

Is saying you’re on the track team excluding throwers and jumpers?

TRUE STORY! The punishment for getting last place in our fantasy football league was run a marathon. @ThePapaLinks got last place, he trained incredibly hard and now is very likely going to be Olympian. Beautiful story of turning your L’s into W’s. His story deserves to be told
Five men hit the 2:08:10 Olympic standard at today's Seville Marathon from countries who did not already have the maximum three qualifiers: Christian Zamora 🇺🇾 2:06:53 Suldan Hassan 🇸🇪 2:07:35 Rory Linkletter 🇨🇦 2:08:01 Phil Sesemann 🇬🇧 2:08:04 Carlos Diaz 🇨🇱 2:08:04

I’m old enough to remember when some random kid from New Mexico upset King Ches to win the indoor mile at NCAAs

The only bad part about running for a program (BYU) that continues to have success is it makes it harder and harder to find excuses for my poor performances and that hurts my ego.

Pretty cool list and Kenneth Rooks (missing from the list) may be the chosen one. We’ll see you in June!!
So Ed Eyestone has: -Won an NCAA XC title -Made an Olympic marathon team (2x) -Coached an NCAA XC individual champion (3x) -Coached an NCAA XC championship team -Coached an Olympic marathoner (3x) -Coached athletes to 1-2 finish at Olympic Marathon Trials Quite a life in running

Rent just went up!!
Want to know what the top American Marathoners do for training? They both train in Provo. I’ll rent you out a room at my place for cheap. Come try it out for a couple months. So pumped for Mantz and Clayton!! @_Clayton_Young_

Mantz and Young went on missions so they were old for the NCAA which is why they’re now running so fast at the Olympic trials!!! Right?
