I made a version of the map on the right that differenciates how each county voted in 2020 in relation to the slave population density from 1860. One hundred and sixty years later we can still see how slavery has affected our political landscape.
reupping this old map and pointing out two key differences that make eastern Tennessee somewhat regionally unique; it’s Appalachian but without coal mines, and Southern without slavery. This economically and culturally distinguished it from much of its surroundings

I tried to scroll through my purchase history on Walmart to compare existing items with current day prices. These original purchases were between 2022-2023. The average increase in cost of this small sample is 24%. Corporate greed is killing us.

I'm sorry, but I only had empathy for those stepping away between 2021 and 2024. After November, they knew dawn well what they were voting for and what this administration would do.
Tip for Democrats if we want to win elections:. When someone says they didn't vote for the things that Trump is doing, welcome them to our coalition. Don't call them stupid or bash them for changing their mind. We could instantly improve our party's brand if we showed more grace.
