Just learned the best @SlackHQ tip! If you have a pesky notification that won't go away, press Shift and Esc. It will give you the option to mark everything as read, and gloriously stop pretending there are unread messages.

Writes @CloeyCallahan "ADUs blend the convenience of remote-friendly spaces with the ability to physically “leave the office” at the end of the workday – except now the commute is only a few steps across your backyard." Fun article on a growing trend.

There are still one-third of Americans working from home, which means a home office has moved from a “nice-to-have” to necessity.

This is an excellent piece from @CloeyCallahan. Years ago I was guilty of being a micromanager, and thankfully have learned better ways to guide others and manage my own anxiety. If you have a manager who hasn't gotten there yet, give this a read for actionable tips.
I wrote an in-depth guide with realistic tips on how to approach 10 different kinds of managers in the workplace. In a perfect world, these folks would have solid training, but that doesn't always happen, so here's our advice on working with them.

Love this question - @PRisUs is a great resource for #pr folks out there to follow. My 2 cents? Always link (not attach) assets and keep those assets super organized and well labeled with company name and context. If pitching a TV station, also link b-roll if available.
Journalist friends: Would you prefer it if a PR pro sent you a pitch with a few relevant visual asset files attached - OR - a link to a Dropbox or Google Drive with the assets so you could pick & choose?

It’s obviously awesome when a journalist says yes to a story or source. But it’s also awesome when they take the time to say no thank you - it means they value the thought you put into the pitch, even if not right for them. Take time to celebrate the no, not just the yes #pr

Vanessa please chill on the baby questions. You never know what a couple is going through and who is struggling through infertility or loss #LoveIsBlindLIVE

Reminder to all comms folks: make it easy for a journalist. Include images and b-roll and have the facts clearly laid out. If a straightforward piece of news, a journalist should be able to draft something based on your original email.

Anyone who's struggled with fertility can find strength here:
I'm a month away from maternity leave, but it was not an easy road to get here. I shared a bit of my #IVF journey with @AllisonLCarter @PRDaily, as well as some lessons learned along the way. Infertility affects 1 in 8 US couples. You are not alone. https://t.co/qlsbEgsjB5

Love this new @orchardhomesco research -- turns out adding accessible features can improve your home value AND help future buyers to find a move-in ready property. #homebuying #dfw #dfwrealtor #RealEstate #accessibility

The average sale price of Dallas-Fort Worth homes with accessibility features comes out to $378,000, vs. $344,000 for homes without these features included.

I just knocked over a cup of coffee and miraculously: - the cup did not break - it missed my computer by an inch - it missed the white chair by two inches - my dog helped clean up and will now be wired for her walk - there was enough in the pot for a fresh cup Miracles y'all.

One of the biggest lessons learned in my career is sustainability. In my 20s, I dropped everything for a PR win. Now I am able to better evaluate the impact of a mention and realize that sometimes, getting the bigger win means not spending energy on the smaller, low impact ones.
