After the addition of 50 more seats, SOA is now among the leading private medical education providers in eastern India with an intake capacity of 450 MBBS students. Odisha now has a total of 19 medical colleges with around 2,725 seats.

NMC has approved 50 more MBBS seats for IMS and SUM Hospital’s Phulnakhara campus from 2025-26, raising its intake from 150 to 200. The first campus of SUM already has 250 seats. Odisha now has 19 medical colleges with 2,725 MBBS seats, including 1,000 in private colleges.

Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan may visit Odisha later this year for the groundbreaking of 3D Glass Solutions semiconductor plant at Bhubaneswar. Heterogeneous Integration Packaging Solutions, which is investing in Odisha, is backed by Intel, Lockheed Martin, and Applied Materials.

Odisha signs MoUs with two semiconductor companies at #SemiconIndia2025. 1. TopTrack Hi-Tech PCB - Rs 1,005 Cr. 2. Sancode Technologies - Rs 1,650 Cr. If these two materialize, Odisha will have five semiconductor plants. Two were confirmed recently, while RIR is already WIP.

A higher tax model is always counterproductive. Customers spend less, consumption drops, industries cut production, and jobs shrink. It benefits no one, except the rich who don’t care about GST. For everyone else, it’s a failed model.

GST reduction will increase consumption, ultimately benefiting industries that will produce more products and create more jobs. The government will also recover revenue through higher sales. It’s a win-win situation for all. This is the benefit of lower taxation.

Can someone explain this? . On these items - GST is included in MRP. Will manufacturers reduce prices now? If they don’t, citing higher costs, how will this be monitored and enforced?
