I think that a big reason that fans embraced The Dark Knight so strongly was because it was a comic book film they could point to and say, "See! It isn't all ZAP! BANG!POW! Our films CAN be taken seriously.".
THE DARK KNIGHT becoming less beloved by a segment of film fans, especially Gen Z and younger, is utterly incomprehensible to the typical millennial mind. When it released in IMAX in ‘08, most of us thought we saw God. It’s an interesting indicator of changing tastes over time.

I was invited to the premiere of Superman in L.A. so I went out a bought a new suit. Black with a bright green shirt in tribute to Guy. And for a half second, I thought about wearing this beanie. I won't however because A) it will be hot and sunny, and B) I'm not THAT big a dork

Saw F-1 in IMAX. VERY entertaining. Was remembering people who say Tom Cruise is the last movie star and thinking, "What about THIS guy?" Seems like a movie star to me.
