In a bipartisan vote last week, the US Senate confirmed surgical oncologist Dr. Monica Bertagnolli (@NIHDirector) as director of the National Institutes of Health (@NIH). Dr. Bertagnolli is the first surgeon to lead the NIH, and only the second woman.
