🌍💧 This #WorldFoodDay is a reminder that water is finite and our food choices matter. By reducing water & #FoodWaste, changing what we eat and how food is produced, we conserve water and ensure it's available for all. Together, we can take #WaterAction and be the change!

Let's set the record straight: 🥬 Fresh, 🥫 canned, or ❄️ frozen - all forms of fruit & vegetables are fantastic choices and count towards your #5aDay! The key is to ensure we consume enough of them and prioritise options low in salt & with no added sugar.

El cultivo de tabaco daña nuestra salud y la salud del planeta. ✅Necesitamos avanzar en la prevención y el control del tabaco para proteger a la población, especialmente a los jóvenes, que son blanco de las tácticas de la industria tabacalera. ➕ https://t.co/t84a1foTjI

🧂 It doesn't matter if your #salt is black, pink or white or comes from the Dead Sea, the Himalayas or the Andes mountains. They are all high in #sodium which in excess is bad for health. So don't let the fancy names fool you, and sprinkle in moderation! #SaltAwarenessWeek

¿Es malo picar entre horas? Depende de lo que piques entre horas. Las palomitas caseras, por ejemplo, son la mar de saludables, como cualquier otro grano integral.

WHO's systematic review on the use of non-sugar sweeteners found no evidence of long-term benefits in achieving weight control in adults or children. Conversely, there might be an increased risk of diabetes, CVDs, and mortality in adults. https://t.co/3huewo19X6

Just because it says 'eco-friendly' doesn't mean it's true! 🙅🏻💚 Avoid #greenwashing by looking for legit schemes, reading food labels carefully, researching brands' sustainability practices and becoming a more conscious consumer.

Want to make healthier choices at the store? Watch for foods low in salt, sugar & saturated fat. 👀 Two products may look similar but contain very different amounts of nutrients. Remember to check the #NutritionLabel & compare between products for the healthier choice. 💪

Want to know what's in your food? Check the ingredient list! 💡#FoodIngredients are listed in order of quantity, from highest to lowest - e.g., if sugar is the first or second ingredient, it means the product is mostly made up of sugar.

There is only one way to know for sure if a product is made with whole grains: by reading the label! 🔍 Always check the list of ingredients. If the first and/or second ingredients contain the word ‘whole’ (e.g., whole wheat or whole rye), the product is likely #wholegrain.

#Protein is found both in plant & animal foods. Although they vary in their quality & digestibility, this is usually not a concern if your total protein needs are met. 🥩🫘 Aim to include more #plantprotein sources to benefit our health & the planet as they're low in GHGs. 🌍

🫘 Are pulses, legumes & beans the same thing? Not really! While all contribute to a healthy & sustainable diet and should be eaten regularly, #pulses are the edible dried seeds of the legume plants. #Beans, lentils, chickpeas and peas are the most common pulses. #WorldPulsesDay
