I'm beginning to romanticize Stack Overflow, looking back to the good old days. Who else feels that?

Tip: PIN your most important tweet of the day! There’s a section on the For You TL that highlights those tweets, and I LOVE to engage with them. TL;DR: Pin one tweet per day to spotlight it.

X is beautiful. Sometimes people just drop you a DM to help. Post, reply, make friends. It’s absolutely worth it.

If you are doing business in Europe, GDPR is a thing. It's still kind of a hot topic. Customers ask about it regularly. Like it or not, consider it.

“A cartoonist’s review of AI art” was SUCH a good read this morning. But be warned: You might feel triggered. (Link in first reply.)

You likely don’t NEED Kafka. But don’t let anyone tell you it’s too complicated. If you stick to the defaults and run a 3-node cluster, it can handle millions of events with exactly-once semantics. I like to see Kafka as my core component of the apps built around it.

Do you prefer to build everything from scratch, to control the infra in your cloud? Or do you pick managed services like: - Managed Kubernetes - Database as a Service - Monitoring as a Service to name just a few. I prefer a compromise. The core components I want to control.

Do you use voice memos to speak your mind? I’m experimenting with that lately to not forget ideas that come (and go so quickly).

Note takers: do you use AI to work on your notes, find connections, enhance them, etc., or just good old manual note-taking? If yes, which tools do you use?

I made my first post on Substack (I think it's called a “Note”). While the long-form content (the newsletter) is planned for early 2026, I want to start being active on Substack now, as a reader and writer (of notes). Any tips for a Substack newbie?

When you create infra in the cloud, do you... Use a GUI that operates in your browser? Use an API to automate everything? I prefer Infrastructure as Code (IaC). It allows me to check it into version control (Git) and automate every part of the process as early as possible.

Unpopular opinion: Being a reply guy is rewarding. I asked @FrancescoCiull4 about Python's energy usage, which led to a joke by @mfranz_on, sparking an interesting discussion between him and @TheDarkTrumpet. Have fun reading.

Ever heard of IONOS Cloud? - IONOS Cloud serves over 250,000 customers - US Object Storage costs < $5 per TB for 30 days - Up to 50% more cost-effective than hyperscalers If you're from Europe and just starting to build your SaaS, you should consider it. I've used it a lot.
