We actually did a couple things in ME2 to make morality checks a bit less strict/frustrating.

was particularly unforgiving if you wanted everyone to survive. You either had to play full renegade or full paragon to 'pass' a particular argument. Hope the requirements are less rigid this time. 🙂

Kinda. But not really. We often started with ME3 characters, as they were the highest fidelity. Then we improved further before bringing them back into ME1/2 . But... we were very careful to adapt for likeness. So, for example, ME1 Liara still looks like ME1 Liara, only better.

Question about MELE, with the difficulty levels of the original trilogy we had to beat the game once to unlock hardcore, and then another on that level to unlock insanity. Are we going to have all levels available at the start or have to do multiple runs again?
