This is 100% true and why we are bringing that look and feel back to life with Authentic Editions.
One thing I realised when I bought the complete run of Byrne's Fantastic Four yesterday. old comics look so much better on cheap newsprint than they do in shiny graphic novel editions, the colours in particular having a mature, saturated feel.
