In 1984, I went to the Theatre in Brooklyn to see DUNE and was handed this sheet of paper- print on both sides- and told it was best to read it before the movie started so I would understand it better. Imagine that...
I know I post this every year on Darwyn Cooke’s birthday -but with this cover he explained to me he named the diner after me because of all the wonderful people he met through me and gave it to me as a gift. Every character we did together is featured. I miss that beautiful man.
Neal Adams, one of my comic book heroes, just passed away.
This great man changed the industry in so many ways, all of them for the better.
Personally, he's always been kind, giving, and always had a piece of advice for me every time I saw him.
I will miss him dearly.
R.I.P
Margot Robbie's portrayal of HarleyQuinn is exactly as we have been writing the character since 2013. For those saying she's nothing like the character, may I suggest a 3- 800 pages collections where you can make the comparison.

Observation. Without all the Hollywood stuff SDCC is a huge success for comic fans and creators. Packed panels. Booths selling out and artists doing very well. Just a great show so far.
A Story about JOHN ROMITA: When I started at Marvel back in 91, John was there to help out guys like me if we had questions or needed any help with what we were working on. Always handy with tracing paper and a pencil to guide us to a better place in our drawings. He did this...
@KHOU
You do not know what the thief would do next.
You can guess, but what if he turned around and shot everyone- or a single person?
He committed a robbery with a gun. Granted he could have shot his ass instead of killing him, but again, who has a crystal ball with this madness?
I wonder why me liking the BIRDS OF PREY movie makes a group of very sad individuals totally lose their shit.
I co-wrote the comic for years and enjoyed the movie.
It happened. It is now part of the history of cinema.
I think I'm gonna watch it again this week.
The end.
@fuckyouiquit
What a piece of trash. 4 mil bonus.
I am amazed at the restraint of all her workers for not piling into their cars to drive to her mansion and take a shit on her lawn.
Daily.
So sad to hear of the passing of comic legend RAMONA FRADON- she gave us all a lifetime of beautiful comic book art and storytelling . We lost a legend today at the age of 97. May she rest in peace. Her art and smile will live on forever in all our hearts.
Did you know that since the JONAH HEX movie came out and bombed, every single Hex trade book Justin and I wrote has been out of print. Bookstores returned them and now they are no longer available.
We had absolutely nothing to do with the movie- but we paid the price for it.
What do you consider the most tired storyline in comics?
Me first:
Batman vs Joker. No Prison can hold him-he is allowed to kill everyone but not be killed- Batman once again proves he is better/smarter than him. He is crazy/genius. Yawn.
Your turn.
At Trumps rally, No one was wearing a mask, but people were asked if Trump wore a mask -would they- and they ALL said " if he wore it, we would too" So- we're dealing with a group of people that cannot think for themselves & a President that doesn't give a shit about his people.
My buddy Billy posted this today. I am reposting it. Darwyn Cooke made comics that were fun, bright, and entertaining. He took the core of each character and presented them in a way where the characters had nobility and integrity.
He is missed daily.
Had a guy come put a water purifier in our kitchen. He looks around and asks me if I am Jimmy Palmiotti. I let him know I am. He yells " Holy Shit" and tells me he loves comics , Captain America, and Wolverine. Did a sketch of both for him. That is my latest convention story.
-share his talent was just a gift to the world. I really loved the man, love his work, and he will live on forever in my heart.
Here is the piece that is a part of this story.
Rest in Peace, John. You are missed.
I am convinced if Birds of Prey was just titled HARLEY QUINN featuring the Birds of Prey, it would have done double the box office.
That, & people didnt spend so much time bad mouthing it before it even came out.
Amanda and I adore that film.
Margot as Harley is perfection.
This is the 50th anniversary of JONAH HEX and sadly DC has nothing planned to celebrate. I gave it my best shot to get something going, but Alas, other things took priority at DC.
For us fans, Please post your favorite cover from the past 50 years. Show Jonah some love and rt.
I love comic books.
I enjoy Movies made from them , but they are no more important than the books to me.
Some work, some don't, but comics are not slaves to big budgets, producers, casting, schedules, & so on, so there is much more creativity on the printed page.
Drawing a comic book is a full time job, we are talking maybe 12-15 hours a day. And this happens 7 days a week. Keep this in mind when you see your favorite artists at conventions. They are making comics because they love them. The $ is not great for 80% of them, sadly.
I miss this lovely man. No one in the business was nicer to me when I started out. I so appreciated all he did for me and let him know each and every time I saw him. He brought out the best in us.
Happy heavenly birthday to Milestone Media co-founder, "Static," "Hardware," "Icon," and "Blood Syndicate" co-creator, "Fantastic Four," "Justice League Of America" and "Deathlok" writer, pioneering visionary Dwayne McDuffie.
Let's be honest,
@WalterSimonson
AND
@LouiseSimonson2
are National Treasures and should be celebrated daily.
So much talent and joy with those two. Amanda and I adore them both.
Share the love.
My beautiful wife has been in comics for over 33 years.
Her storytelling skills are still some of the best in the business.
Anyone that has met Amanda will tell you she is the sweetest & most considerate person they ever met.
I just like to point that out once in a while.
It sucks for comic creators to see the films & tv shows get so much attention for the things they created & never having these people even mention them or where the ideas originally came from.
It's why it's important to support creators when they step out & do their own thing.
It is sad to see so many people voting for a guy that is pretty much made up of the ingredients of every supervillain I ever wrote.
Ever.
His handling of Covid and all the deaths alone should have shut him down completely.
I will never understand most people.
REMEMBER when Comic Book covers actually reflected what was inside the book rather than create overblown pin-up art that has nothing to do with the title except featuring the main character?
We lost a lot of amazing comic creators over the past few years. By posting JUST ART, give a shout-out to those who you appreciate and who are still with us.
I will start.
Support your local comic shop. Buy back issues, ask them to find new and old books for you & make sure you talk about the shop to new friends and online & promote them. This is a really tough business to be in, so give them the attention they deserve otherwise they will go away.
Our wedding anniversary was today...not a date most people remember outside of the two of us...but honestly, all that really matters is right here in my arms.
She is my world.
Can you name all the comic artists over 70 still with us and post a piece of their art as well. I will go first.
MIKE KALUTA- 76- To this day, his work blows me away and I even had him work on Harley a few years back.
