Stablecoins are now law in the US. We need to use this opportunity to build more distributed and resilient systems, rather than double down on entirely centralized constructions Excited to welcome @aplus to the game π₯

@fchollet Engineers are required to abide by ethics rules, prioritize safety, and specify their systems properties before they build them based on understanding of the domain. ML research is research. https://t.co/9cwghuJtiS
ML research is an engineering discipline, not a philosophy seminar. You build, you test, you learn. Untested ideas are just speculation.

I love seeing @ameensol keeping the Persian legacy alive today You always wonder: where are the descendants of the great ancient peoples? Do they remember and live up to their history? Here they are, fighting for freedoms, building a better future πͺ

What if @ConstitutionDAO reformed β with the mission of defending the constitution. I hear there is a vacancy for that job.

In German, the word "verschlimmbessern" means "to make something worse while trying to repairing it." In English, we call that "software development."

Organisations can be more intelligent. Ethnographic practices are important for βbuilding the loopβ that enables us to bring group practices and rules into the conduct of machines. Hereβs the paper I gave on this at EPIC https://t.co/2MEC65VGLw with @profjasonpotts @kelsiemvn

π’New ep with @ElinorRennie (@RMIT, @metagov_project) on the @gov_futures podcast!! I think the work that Ellie, in collaboration with the @block_science team (@mZargham and crew) are doing on KOI (Knowledge Object Infrastructure) is both fascinating and will be super useful
1/ ποΈ New Episode Out Now! π₯ This week, weβre joined by Professor @ElinorRennie Rennie (@RMIT University) to dive deep into Coordination, Collective Knowledge & Contribution Systems in DAOs.

okay so after playing around even more with ChatGPT's agent feature I really don't know how anyone who isn't already pretty advanced at practicing law is ever going to get good at it, it's way too tempting to just delegate shit to this thing and it turns your brain off. . .same

just do lots of convex optimization, real analysis and linear algebra β then ask a computer to do the dirty work for youβ then itβs called βmachine learningβ

unpopular DAO opinion incoming... AI governance is a dead end. Human governance supplemented by AI? Sure. But in a hypothetical future where AI does 99.999% of all "work" on the planet, human governance will be the LAST remaining thing we keep. It's our collective agency.

Power concentrates naturally β brand and reputation concentrate attention, capital begets capital, and other manifestations of the Matthew Effectβ therefore a decentralized system must not only have balance of power but also mechanisms for naturally dissipating accumulated power.
a system is decentralized if actual power over that system is widely distributed a system is autonomous if it is very hard for extrinsic forces to illegitimately alter that system it's pretty simple and pretty factual...just because someone in power seeks to 'build consensus'
