Trying out titles for my book on #tintabernacles etc - what do we think of 'Portable and temporary buildings in Britain, 1850s-1930s'? Hard to find an all-encompassing title while still explaining what it's about. Comments welcome!

Have wanted to see #DortmundU for years, great to get up top and close to the former Union Brewery's mega sign, which really is visible for miles around. The old fermentation building (1927) is now a cool arts centre. @AIndustrialArch @InsiderBuild

Another #Ruhr highlight was a ride on the Wuppertal Schwebebahn, an elevated suspended railway (I think that's right), part of the local transport network running above the river and streets. Efficient, exciting! @AIndustrialArch @InsiderBuild @MrTimDunn

Back from amazing trip round #Ruhr #industrial area, so here's a few pics of World Heritage site #Zollverein near #Essen - hard to capture sheer scale in photos. Mine owner's desk at Ruhr Museum rather shocking. @AIndustrialArch @InsiderBuild

Did rather well for tower #views last week, first at #Brighton from @i360_brighton the cliffs looked fab. Then #London at sunset from chimney @BatterseaPwrStn (2 lifts and 39 steps, since you ask) - felt strange to be so close to chimney tops!

Not exactly a #tintabernacle but definitely a CI (corrugated iron) building, Innerwick's 1909 concert/village hall, East Lothian. Did you know that there are almost 700 similar early CI & wood buildings surviving in UK & Ireland today? @HistoricEngland

Rescued (by local kennels) from probable death in Macedonia, may I introduce our new #dog friends Bonzo (left) and Maddy, who might be Bonzo's mum. First night here and they seem to be settling down OK, paws crossed. Just portable trip hazards really.

To Scotland, where the sun was shining, to see the Barony Church at #Dalswinton, a #tintabernacle made in Liverpool by Isaac Dixon & Co in 1881. Even has the nameplate to prove it, a rare thing. North of Dumfries, on the excellent 236 bus #HoustonsCoaches

In #Walberswick where we find #oysters in architecture (perhaps a book title) instead of the traditional flints. A wonderful idea! #Southwold

Dunsdale #TinTabernacle (south of Redcar, North Yorks) built 1914 for local miners. Allotments thriving but church has seen better days, is now for sale

Walking the back way round #Granton on #Edinburgh coastline I came across the amazing Granton #Gas Holder (1898-1902) now being renovated as the centre of a new public park (so I read). The tiny workers accentuated its stunning scale. 10 pts for I-spy bk!

Here's a #tintabernacle with a purpose, once Capheaton's Institute (1921), now community centre and tea room, favourite of cyclists #cycling north (= UP) in #Northumberland. Seen last weekend in full swing, highly recommended!

Visited super-efficient @wyorksarchives at #Bradford last week, finished so quick I finally had time to see inside Kirkgate Centre (still well used, if a bit tatty). Here's a few phone snaps of market hall murals; market could be a great space for eg events.

Home of the local @HellsAngels in Blyth, Northumberland, this #tintabernacle dates from 1901 (4 foundation stones! see bottom right). Originally a Free Methodist mission for c200 worshippers, built by Spiers of Glasgow in around one month for £300.
