As my dad, Manus O'Riordan, was cremated and has no gravestone, I placed the wreath from his funeral on the grave of Frank Ryan today just as he did following the cremation of his father Mick 15 years ago.

I heard the Garda helicopter circling overhead and presumed it was gang/serious crime-related.
But no, it was part of a besiegement of a derelict building used by activists to house homeless people at a time of record homelessness.
A despicable use/waste of Garda resources.
RHL activists are currently under siege by over 80 Gardaí and a helicopter on Berkeley Road in Phibsoro at the latest building taken back to house the homeless. The cops broke in at 11pm and activists are on the roof as we speak

One year ago today we received the most devastating news that our much-loved dad, Manus O'Riordan, had suffered a heart attack and didn't pull through.
His loss to all of us remains immeasurable but thanks to everyone who has tried to make the last year a bit more tolerable.

We've all endless stories of Mono's understated decency. One I'll always be grateful for is when our da died last year. Unasked for, he arranged for a marquee for the wake in our back garden and even set up a bar with Guinness kegs. No fuss - just wanted to help any way he could.
