Welcome to the new office of the Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire! 🏢

I’ve been in office for just four days, and to be completely transparent — there was nothing in place when I arrived. No team, no structure, not even the systems needed to bring people on board. We’ve got clear priorities and a strong vision, but we’re having to build.

I was honoured to have attended the VE Day 80th anniversary service at Westminster Abbey. Britain is living off the past glories and sacrifices of greater men and women.

Today was my first day as Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire. I’ve signed the declaration and I’m ready to hit the ground running.

The people of Hull and East Yorkshire have voted for change, they’ve voted for Reform and they have voted for me to be their first Mayor. I’m grateful and humbled. I now must focus on delivering, I don’t want to be like every other politician, all talk and no action. I will do.
