Parents have abandoned their infant children. They prefer the dopamine hits of TikTok videos and Temu deals over the real-life tedium of trying to play with a toddler. Perhaps we need health warnings on apps? Do we just ban short-form video? (I say, typing on this dopamine app.)
There’s a disaster unfolding in our primary schools. So many children aren’t potty-trained, can’t hold a pen, have never been read to, eaten fruit etc. ‘Core strength’ is being taught in Reception because children are so used to slumping over devices that they can’t sit properly.

Since 2004, govt policy has been to raise rail fares by RPI +1% every year. RPI is the higher inflation measure (CPI is typically 1% lower). Anyone who bought a house outside London in the last twenty years knew what they were letting themselves in for. (Doesn’t make it right.)
