I’m afraid @guardian has its own experience on ignoring and suppressing allegations before they go nuclear.

Seven women say that a star columnist groped them or made unwanted sexual advances. But Britain’s news media has a complicated relationship with outing its own.

Congrats Alcaraz. Excellent Spanish victory Lovely win for Spain that satiates all national sporting ambition. Let’s leave it there etc
To win here is special. To defend here is elite. Carlos Alcaraz is the 2024 Gentlemen’s Singles Champion 🏆 #Wimbledon

It’s the village fete and tensions are running high. My dad is heavily involved this year and has a tabard. Going to be an absolute classic.

Just read a celebrity interview this morning where the writer is walked to his car by the subject. It’s in central London where transport is widely available. It’s not 1992! I can understand if you have camera kit but for a notepad seems weird.

@benhabib6 If you need legal advice on how to sue @reformparty_uk because it's the private fiefdom of two very rich men rather than a party of the people we are here for you.

Farage, not nearly as popular as you think he is.
Nigel Farage helped Reform UK by mobilising within the quarter who like him. His reputation steady over time as a well known, broadly unpopular politician with a 1/4 market. An asset to a 10% party. Potential conundrum for a 24% party on the right that wants to be a 40% party

An important read. Part of the general architecture designed to make sure influential men are never held accountable. But also weakening reporter freedom overall. Everyone in the media biz should be concerned and alive to this.
A top media freedom lawyer said the UK press is facing “extreme legal hurdles”, pointing to reporting of allegations against Crispin Odey and Russell Brand

2 fossil fuel projects have had their planning killed in 1 day Following an oil well having planning permission quashed, the same thing has just happened to the proposed Whitehaven coal mine in Cumbria Both cases a direct result of this ruling last month https://t.co/9aUw44e8nH

In a case brought against Surrey county council, the judge ruled that emissions from unearthed fossil fuels must be considered before drilling licences are approved
This could be start of avalanche of decisions against planning approvals for UK fossil fuel projects In June the Supreme Court ruled approval of an oil well failed to account for the climate impact of burning the oil The precedent has now derailed a separate oil well in Lincs

Wow, that was quick. The effective ban on onshore wind farms in England has been lifted, just a few days after Labour took power. Planning barriers cut, so "onshore wind applications will be treated in the same way as other energy development proposals" https://t.co/N86spGe0Wp

On point 3 he ought to imagine the attacks and death threats Angela Rayner gets.
I deleted a tweet on Rayner, here’s why: 1. It was a poor take and below calibre, on reflection. Importantly, I missed a key point on social mobility that I hadn’t considered. 2. Mass misinterpretation, and poor writing on my behalf, trying to express my dissatisfaction with a

A gnomic interpretation of a weird saying, My bank manager the long suffering Mr Raspberry used this proof of pudding eating adage to me once when I was about 20. I remember saying to him ‘what are you on about?’
What did Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov say when I asked him about the UK election result? He told me about puddings. Producer @BenTavener

Kier Starmer’s s school photo bears an uncanny resemblance to some of mine: fluffy hair + flute. The flute nerd vibe has been diminished & dismissed for too long. Hearing that Rachel reeves and Starmer are flautists lifts me like the Chamimade concerto (in D). #flutenerd
