Which is also why, for its many many faults, there is nowhere else I could go than Anglicanism (much as this sometimes pains my soul)

This brief quote summarises my shift from an iconoclastic βneo-formed faithβ into a sacramentality that is both reformational and catholic. What happens at the table is both a sign and means of entering into the theosis of all creation.
Reverence for the bread and the wine of the Eucharist is the beginning of reverence for the whole world. βRowan Williams, "Being Christian"

Every murderous state must be held to account. Eyes on Sudan, eyes on Palestine. We are in a struggle for humanity
In the wake of reports of summary executions, mass killings, rapes, and abductions in their country, the Bishops of the Episcopal Church of Sudan have issued a statement condemning the other countries βfuellingβ the civil war. https://t.co/77APeZ6s7z

The world needs honest and courageous entrepreneurs and communicators who care for the common good. We sometimes hear the saying: βBusiness is business!β In reality, it is not so. No one is absorbed by an organization to the point of becoming a mere cog or a simple function. Nor

Huge thanks also go to two very special people, @seanstillman667 who 11 years ago convinced an old bricklayer from the Home Counties that it might be worth doing some theological study, & beloved Lucie Moore, who we lost 12 months ago, you taught me to believe in my brain again.

Guess who finished first drafts of the final chapter & conclusion of their doctoral thesis this week? After what has been a brutal 12 months in my life, this feels like a huge milestone. 5k words over limit, & earlier chapters needing major edits, but happy to get this far!

Sobering reading of the harm done by conversion therapy practices, which are probably more common than many would think. I have friends who have been deeply wounded by these practices. They must end.
Some more detail on the CTES published stories of Conversion Therapy Exorcism Practices, evidencing harm in the UK TW. Abuse, detail Vinnieβs Case could also be categorised as Sexual Abuse, and is a familiar, recognisable pattern for abuse survivors

As an interesting aside to other theology geeks like me - I recently learned that Temple drew extensively (albeit critically) from Alfred North Whitehead's Process Philosophy in his book 'Nature Man and God'. (@liturgicalben it's like I want people to hate me at this point)

Commemoration of William Temple in the CofE today. I have complex feelings about his legacy, but would prefer his brand of Anglican Social Teaching to the capitalist mess we have now. Was grateful for this recent gift from a colleagues retirement clearout

Latest Index of Multiple Deprivation data published. In the debates on how the CofE spends its vast wealth, I hope we take heed of this. "They asked only one thing, that we remember the poor, which was actually what I was eager to do." -Galatians 2:10 https://t.co/V8tXTanfWd

Wishing Samir Zitouni a speedy a recovery and comfort to him, his family, and the other victims after what must have been an incredibly traumatic experience. #NotAllHeroesWearCapesππΌ
A rail worker credited with saving multiple lives during a mass stabbing on a train has been named as Samir Zitouni. The 48-year-old's actions on the Doncaster to London King's Cross service on Saturday evening were described as "nothing short of heroic".

Anthony Williams charged with 11 counts of attempted murder in train attack. A source close to him says 'he wasn't religious but spoke about Jesus'. Silence from the 'witnesses heard Allahu Akbar' crew. According to police reports there were no such witness and was online

@MadsDavies would love to chat to you about this sometime, the experiences and reflections of our participants (many of whom had no theological education, and some with little formal education at all) offered a profound critique to current CofE funding practices.

Draft of final thesis chapter completed. I did not expect the topic of capitalist political economy to emerge so prominently in a study of how CofE practitioners reflect pneumatologically on mission, but it was central. The current economy of 'strategic' mission funding must die.

A special mention for @lucaslarner's chapter: 'An excellent chapter from the UK... [on] the implications of the enclosure of Englandβs common lands in shifting understandings of property, exacerbating inequality, benefiting C of E clergy, and generating a vulnerable workforce.'

This is why I define class as βI would define social class as a set of unequal labour relationships and the socio-cultural frameworks and institutions that reproduce them.β The trick of meritocracy is to try hide the reproductive nature of class relationships.
I donβt understand how everyone else just knew what to do. like before graduating when they were doing a bunch of micro-internships ready for careers in management consultancy and magic circle law firms. how did they even know those were jobs
