And to be clear: the tyranny of the Hub is a cross-party phenomenon! Death to Hubs. Victory to Places!
@michaelgove and @Madz_Grant also detest the Hubification of the British state. We demand a post-hub politics!

The "Hubs Theory of Everything" is one of the most pernicious kinds of policy meme. So much public policy is based on the premise "one more hub will probably fix it", and usually this is a delusion. Great research by @LouisElton96
Some charts to illustrate how much British governments love hubs! Surprisingly, Boris was a sleeper hub zealot.

In my latest for @unherd , I dissect the use of the term "hub" in British statecraft. Before 2000, "hub" appeared in parliament 613 times in 200 years. Blair & Brown: 885 in 13 years Cameron: 2,067 in 6 years Starmer: 966 in 1 year https://t.co/HOENIRAClQ

Cameron got a lot of hubbing in, but Starmer is going to blow everyone out of the water. All hail the Hub!
