And finally, it would be incomplete not to mention Jeff's deep kindness, generosity and humanity, especially through the challenges of the past few years. I am grateful that my team and I will be able to continue working with him as an advisor in his "retirement." 👑.

His tendency toward speaking his mind in public and provoking ways gives cover to others. Many times I've spoken my mind or taken risks because I knew Jeff had done much worse! 📢.

The second thing might be known only to people who have worked with him: Jeff very intentionally uses his privilege as an "old, white, man" (his words!) and as a thought leader to protect and elevate more vulnerable or more timid people. ☂️.

First, Jeff is famous for being "pro-tech." But what he is is comfortable with change and excited by new possibilities. It's a fearless attitude that I try to emulate each day, asking always, How Would Jeff Think of this? 🧠.

Many people have commented this week on Jeff's upcoming "retirement" and I agree with all the wonderful things that have been said about the man, but I would like to add three more things I am grateful to Jeff for. (🧵).
Some personal news: I'm moving on from CUNY's Newmark J-school, officially retiring (but not really) at the end of the term. I am proud of so much accomplished there, which I recount with much thanks here:
