A preventable tragedy in which a couple were killed by the driver of a vehicle while they walked on the sidewalk. Enough of prioritizing the speed of car drivers! Windsor needs more than policies. It needs to implement. My thoughts shared on the CTV video.

The Dutch invest €595 million annually on urban biking, resulting in €19 BILLION saved in public health care costs alone. That’s how smart govts do the math on investing in better mobility. Let’s be clear — it wastes public money to NOT do it. #CityMakingMath HT @modacitylife

Hey @andrewdowiempp, it sounds like you’re blaming bike lanes for causing congestion and making your ‘commute’ from Toronto to Windsor super long? Perhaps you could consider taking the train instead of contributing to the congestion.

The premier is pandering to GTA drivers who are frustrated by congestion that will only be reduced when people drive less. For that to happen we need alternatives - good public transit and safe, connected cycling and walking facilities.

Bike lanes aren’t anti-car, they’re pro-city. Smart cities know this. Calling this effective ban (that’s what this is, let’s be clear) on cities creating protected bike-lanes WRONGHEADED is a massive understatement. It would be like banning success or smart decision-making. 3/

This be what I keep talking about! ⬇️
Seriously, watch this short video. To see how to effectively make the case for protected bike-lanes, and particularly how they’re good for business. Or just as a great example of how to speak to any city council. Watch it, then share it. HT @PVDStreets

Looking forward to supporting this report on the dangers of ridiculously oversized pick-ups, vans and SUVs.
"Betw 1981-2019, 65% of increase in household spending on private transportatn has been attributed to the purchase of new light-duty trucks (pickup trucks, vans, and SUVs)" - @equiterre report https://t.co/PVqniRKDYi How many of these drivers complain bitterly abt carbon tax?

Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens has a history of bullying grassroots advocates and citizens who disagree with him. Anyone paying attention knows he bullies city staff as well. Props to the Windsor Star for covering this.
Yowza! Fired @CityWindsorON engineer told to ‘keep mayor happy at all costs’ — $1.55M lawsuit alleges. Explosive claims, including of city hall corruption and targeting of mayoral foes. Oh, and that streetcar. https://t.co/rC52xKlHFq via @TheWindsorStar

My interview with @jonliedtke about the appalling lack of any progress on the @cityofwindsor Active Trans Plan in more than 4 years. Plan calls for 69kms of "urgently needed" on road bike lanes. City added 4kms.

Pedestrians and cyclists: police would like to remind you to wear bright or reflective clothing, make eye contact with drivers, and remain aware of your surroundings. After all, road safety is a *shared* responsibility.™

The mayor has hit a new low in lashing out against citizens who volunteer to help make our city better. Democracy has left city hall.

Thanks for inviting me to discuss Zero Vision and how cyclists are weaponizing against the city ! Terrific discussion.
Jon, Melinda and Doug are joined by Lori Newton of Bike Windsor-Essex to discuss the changes to city committee structure and the cancellation of a temporary protected bike lane on University Avenue. https://t.co/uf1dr1l4Lj

Erie Street - via d'Italia - a street that should be so bike friendly! How can a city be so unwelcoming to people visiting by bicycle. This is what cities look like when they don't provide bike parking. Bikes locked to fences, railings, benches.
