As the incoming Chair for First Community Health and Care @1stchatter I was pleased to join today’s People Committee. According to our recent staff survey we really are the best place to work in the NHS! I look forward to meeting all our team and partners in the next few months.

Thank you Sarah; I know this effect is common around the world but whenever we expand and improve cycle facilities more people cycle. Will work on staff changing facilities and just started e-bike designated parking to avoid impeding patients.

Incredible King’s team that first eliminated desflurane, then turned off the first NO2 piped system in NHS, followed by entonox last month. We are choosing to reduce climate change gases because it’s right for patients, staff and the environment.

After EPIC go live dress rehearsals at PRUH ED I hot footed it to Ruskin Park for the annual ⁦@KingsCollegeNHS⁩ finance rounders match. It was Fahim’s Last Dance before heading to Imperial and we’ve only gone and blooming won it!

Fun morning in our newly refurbed ED childrens’ area. Check out the air conditioning and water fountain ☀️ ☀️ ☀️ as well as signage and loading bearing the new sinks. It opens tomorrow so lots more to do tonight. £1.25m well spent with help from @supportkings. Next up Adult ED!

After 5 years of trying was finally selected for the ⁦@KingsCollegeNHS⁩ finance 5 a side footy only to lose despite having 6 players. We welcomed back old stars and said a farewell to those those transfer requests have come through. There’s life in the old dog yet!

Early morning holiday walk prepping for the 18 mile #greathospitalhike @supportkings on Sept 16th. Cape Clear, Mizen Head, Castle Head and Lough Ine as some of the highlights of a West Cork morning.

My dad died 12 months ago. This was his boat which he loved sailing with his friends and seven children. Sara and John D have sanded and painted it and Emma and I have launched and rigged it (badly). It does feel like someone is missing.

“Unburdened by haze In pure air, minds find solace Protected we thrive” First prize to Dean Huang in @KingsCollegeNHS Clean Air haiku competition yesterday. Prizes included a foraging trip, bird feeders, plant pots and Wild sustainable deos.

A year ago @KingsCollegeNHS decommissioned the first nitrous oxide manifold and now joined by 22 manifolds across fellow @Shelford Group trusts saving nearly 6k carbon tonnes equivalent. We constantly learn from and challenge each other to go further.

Great to have the Duchess of Edinburgh visit on NHS75. Contrary to rumour the paint was dry for her visit but the team did work 24x7 for the last six weeks as we got our King’s Academy ready to support our Epic EPR rollout. Time for a good nights sleep everyone!
