In venture, the perception of relevancy used to track closely with a fund’s cash-on-cash multiple (above a certain size). Now it seems more about absolute dollars returned. Both still depend on backing the outliers but stage matters less, and the quantum of capital matters.

The Astronomer video is great on it's own. But I'm even more impressed that the leadership team and the board were able to come to consensus to make this investment and take this risk absent the CEO they've had for the last 2 years. I can't imagine everyone was onboard with.
