Oh I cannot describe what a proud Livvy I am. If it helps even one person I am happy. If I can help to raise awareness for the wonderful people in the rail industry, and to the police, who do so much to provide safety in MH emergencies, I am thrilled. Thank you @AJonesMP 🙂

The day we were discharged, a fellow patient & I actually went out at 7.30am to have toasted teacake at Costa! We used to enjoy sharing baking with the staff. Being able to practise preparing good meals & get that sense of enjoyment and achievement in hospital is so important.

Every week on Progression/Transition we would prepare a meal as a group - a curry, pasta bake, fajitas, a pie. We had 'ready meal' night once to practice spontaneous quick meals. We did takeaway night (Dominos) and practised meals out (ASK, Nandos, M&S cafe).

Hot meals are a fear for me at the moment. The extent of my meal preparation at home is cereal or toast. In hospital we did Cooking and nutrition group, when we were ready to on EDU.

Since my mum died and prior to anorexia, I cooked every night for my family. I enjoyed cooking, I was good at it, I liked baking, I prepared good nutritious meals. I can't make a 'proper' meal on my own anymore (*at the moment. I will).

I was in an EDU, so even more relevant potentially, but this is so very true. As easy as it seems, cooking can be a massive challenge and achievement when you struggle with mental health.

An interesting read - language of service user involvement has changed in some places and there’s now co-production. As long as what people with lived experience say is listened to, heard, acted on and communicated it doesn’t really matter - hard for most to do it unfortunately
Does the mention of ‘service user involvement’ feel outdated to you? Read Snapshots of the sector 2019: Involvement for some candid thoughts from charity leaders on #involvement

@KatieWatts1969 @Liv1204 Every single attendance for every single frequent attender at my ED is 'appropriate' once the need has arisen. The more pertinent question is how can we help people not get into that position of need in the first place.
