Excerpts from Abu al-Baqa ar-Rundi poem رثاء الأندلس ‘Laments from Andalus’. Al-Rundi was He was born in Sevilla (Muslim Spain) in 1204 . He wrote this poem mourning the Catholic invasion and conquest of al-Andalus, asking Muslims for help. Resonates with Gaza today. 1/🧵

most Iranians don't agree with you. They hold strongly to the shi'i faith and consider it a defining feature of their identity with acknowledgement of their past as a deeply civilised and intellectually high nation which is why key scholars of Islam also came from there.
@sharghzadeh Don’t define Iran or Iranians by Islam,.We had 10,000 years of civilization before it. Stop pretending Iranians have Arab or Western culture when Persian/Iran culture is far older and richer than both. You can’t force your ideas on people they’re free.
