So @lindaclark1 (who I once bumped into walking up Lambton Quay) asked if I’d do this thing with her at in May @BooktownNZ & I said yes cos (1) she was a fierce journo and (2) it sounded like a good idea months ago 😬 We will Q&A each other on May 11 1/

A top panel @Mihi_Forbes @simonjbridges @MikeMunroNZ talking #election2023. Best thing: great minds don't think alike but agreeable disagreement is possible

The news that Kim Hill is to step down from her Saturday Morning show in November is HUGE @radionz She is simply in a class of her own as an interviewer.

My kid lived in this flat. Told by the rental agency it was exempt from healthy homes because would be demolished at yr end. It wasn't. The house was leaking, damp, freezing.

Former tenants claim the owners have found a loophole in Healthy Homes regulations.

Subscribe to 'Thanks, Driver'. A great blog on becoming a bus driver in Wellington, Aotearoa New Zealand. Those who know Wellington's geography will understand the challenges this could present. @lindaclark1 @MelanieJam @QMULsed

This is how my morning started. Hanging out with the cool kids
A discerning audience of 200 turned out to see me in full flight at 9am this morning! As usual, @CathChidgey hogged the mike - not even @lindaclark1 could shut her up - but I signed books till they sold out! Thanks @BooktownNZ

Sad to see this. @toddmullerBoP really looked like he’d regained his stride. Plus always good to have MPs who are open about their own struggles. It’s gutsy. Wish him the best

An important piece that quietly asks a devastating question. Did any victims of this cyclone delay getting out of its way because they were lulled by broadcasters telling them not to overreact? Cyclone Gabrielle scepticism is a sting in Covid's tail

ANALYSIS: As Cyclone Gabrielle churned over the country, some dismissed warnings as "fearmongering" and "hysteria". Sound familiar?

What Hilary Barry, my beloved mother in law and years of insufficient action on climate change have in common...
.@lindaclark1: The way and where New Zealanders use land is one of the most important debates we should be having. #Opinion #CycloneGabrielle

#MustWatch this emotional speech from Greens co-leader @jamespeshaw in the House today. “I don’t think I’ve ever felt as sad or as angry about the lost decades spent arguing whether climate change was real or not, caused by humans or not… because it is clearly here now.”

"The era of procrastination, of half-measures, of soothing and baffling expedients, of delays, is coming to its close. In its place we are entering a period of consequences … We cannot avoid this period; we are in it now." Oh yes James. #nzpol

This is a call to action well worth your time
7. If you have any spare time in your day, I implore you to volunteer at a low-decile school. There simply isn’t enough $ for Teacher Aides to help with the myriad of needs. Even just an hour of your time to read with some kids and give them a smile. Please.

Had a big birthday today and sheesh people have been so lovely. Currently settling into the acceptance phase but definitely being carried by the generosity of others. Older, wiser and luckier
