Birding 2023 roundup. So hard to pick four. Especially having been in the Pennines and at a Snettisham spectacular! Suffolk waxwing, bittern and snipe from @RSPBMinsmere and the long-billed dowitcher at @NWTCleyCentre with the wonderful @parkbirdslondon

Hollesley @Natures_Voice and a lovely early morning with two cuckoos, 2-3 wood sandpipers, greenshank, snipe, marsh harrier, turnstone, many more including here Cetti’s warbler, 4 of the 5 spoonbills, stonechat and barn owl. #lovebirds #seewhatyouremissingcraig!

Great first thing dash to @Natures_Voice North Warren where this lovely black winged stilt dropped in (and a wood sandpiper too). V pleased #lovebirds

A 5:30am start and 25 km in the peaks surrounded by curlews, lapwings, red grouse, skylarks, willow warblers, with 4 cuckoos, 2 wheatear, TWO ring ouzel plus a pied flycatcher and a tree pipit. Days rarely are better than this.

Fab morning at KGV reservoir in the illustrious company of Young Birder of the Year 2024 @Elliott81758817 getting 3 new for me. Scaup, goosander, kite, peregrine, goldeneye and, here, black throated diver, slavonian grebe, black-necked grebe, great northern diver 😍

A quick foray onto @CityCorpHeath to finally catch this splendid dartford warbler, originally found by @rubatroid two days ago - the first on HH for 30 years!!!!!! What an absolute birding treat! 🥰
